Lenten Fish Fry Dinner

Yes, it is that time again!

Fish Fry Dinners will be held on Fridays, February 20-March 27, so be sure to mark your calendars. The cost this year will be $12 per person and $6 per child (10 and under). The menu will remain the same.

If you want to help out at the dinners, come by the Welcome Center on Sundays to sign up.

Let’s show our support for McCurdy by providing an enthusiastic audience for Vickie on March 5th and—remember—spouses, friends, and guests are always welcome!

Open Mic Night Coming Up!

The next Open Mic Night is set for Friday Night, March 13th, from 7:00 PM—8:00 PM in Room 260. This is the same night as the Fish Fry, so come get a good meal then join us upstairs for an evening of music, poetry, and various art forms.

If you have a song, talent, routine, poem, or some other talent that you would like to share to a very kind and receptive audience, please e-mail Jarrod ( your submission idea by the Sunday night before the event: March 8th.

Men's Bible Study on the Apostles

The men of St. John’s and their friends are invited to an 8-week Bible study held each Monday, March 2 – April 20, in Room 241 at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

The study will be based on the book, “Shoulder to Shoulder: Insights into the Lives of the Apostles,” by Gene Getz. Classes start soon. Please sign up at the Welcome Center on Sunday or contact Jack directly at

Books are now available at the Welcome Center. The cost is $10, payable the first day of class. Read the first chapter for March 2nd.

Moments of Prayer & Reflection

To help us mark the season of Lent, Pastor Craig will lead “Moments of Prayer & Reflection” at 12:15 PM and 5:15 PM each Monday during the season, beginning Monday, February 23rd.

The “Moments” will only be 15 minutes long, but will serve to remind us to spend a little more time with God during this reflective season leading us to Holy Week and Easter.

Wednesday Night Live

Plan to join us for great meals, wonderful classes, and an overall good time!

As always, you are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM for an always-changing menu featuring great food. The cost for the meal is $10 for Adults (18 years old and over), $5 for Children (ages 12 to 17), $2 for Children (ages 6 to 11), and anyone under 6 years old eats for FREE. The menu for March 4th: Soup Night: Ham & Cheese Baked Potato Soup, Green Chile Chicken Cheese Sopa Calliente, and Corn Chowder

There are also a large variety of free programs and classes – for adults, youth, and children – to choose from both before and after the dinner.

Jolly Elders

On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone is Irish. So be wearin’ your green and joinin’ the Jolly Elders’ March celebration. SJUMC’s own Irish lass, Trisha O’Keefe, will be singin’ a ditty or two, and leadin’ us all in a couple of jigs.

Bring your “cockles, mussels, or Irish stew” to share, and your own table setting to Rooms 245/257 on Wednesday, March 11th, before noon. Come join the O’Olivers, O’Bonners, O’Walls, and other O’s, and be jolly!

Memory Cafe

The Albuquerque Memory Café will meet on March 14th at 3:30 PM in the SonShine Café.

The topic will be health care options in Albuquerque as well as games by Recreation through the Ages. Memory Café is for those with memory loss and their care partners.

Jazz Vespers

The next Jazz Vespers will be held on Saturday, March 14th, at 5:00 PM in the sanctuary.

Jazz Vespers is a unique, meditative worship service that features some of New Mexico’s best professional jazz musicians. This service is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Free childcare is available.

Our Ministries

Adult Ministries
St. John's offers a large number of opportunities for Adults to get involved with the church.
Youth Ministries
The youth ministry programs at St. John's are tailored specifically for both Senior High and Mid-High School students. Our goal for all of these programs is to encourage and guide our youth to become faithful diciples of Jesus.
Child & Family Ministries
St. John's United Methodist Church has an oustanding and full children's program. In addition to Sunday School, St. John's offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian envirionment.
